Scene Queen Indianapolis Concert reviews
Great show, terrible venue
Maricopa, a remote city far from the Phoenix metro area, was the curious venue choice for Scene Queen's show. The venue itself was the hotel/casino's main conference ballroom, with ballroom chairs temporarily placed close to each other. Maybe the Ak-Chin tribe, who owns the land, threw the most money at him. The entire front section was not set for theater seating, meaning anyone in front of you was blocking views of the stage. We watched the whole show on the projection screens... might as well have watched a Netflix special at home! Great performance from him, we are still talking about his jokes. Even Scene Queen and his openers made jokes about it. Scene Queen's body of work gave us high expectations for this show. He did not disappoint! However, Greater Phoenix is one of the biggest metropolitan areas in the U.S. and they choose to have the show in another county? Great show, but not worth the $180 price of admission.
